This is a senior infrastructure role focused on middleware, API management, and systems integration within a technology-driven environment.
You will design and evolve integration architectures that support secure, scalable, and reliable digital services.
The role combines hands-on management of API Gateway platforms with automation, governance, and operational excellence.
You will work closely with architecture and technology teams to translate strategic needs into effective integration solutions.
A key part of the position is strengthening API lifecycle management, observability, consistency, and security practices.
The role offers strong technical ownership and the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide integration standards and processes.

Accountabilities

• Design and implement integration architectures that address business and technology requirements, ensuring scalability, security, reliability, and maintainability.

• Configure, manage, support, and evolve API Gateway platforms, with a primary focus on CA API Gateway/Layer7 and Apigee X.

• Maintain and enhance the API portal, supporting effective access, documentation, and consumption of enterprise APIs.

• Identify and implement automation opportunities across API operations, management, and infrastructure processes.

• Partner with architecture and technology teams to define and implement solutions that support strategic business objectives.

• Drive the evolution of API lifecycle management and governance processes, promoting consistency and adherence to established standards.

• Define, document, and improve corporate processes related to infrastructure, integrations, and API management.

• Promote the adoption of technology best practices, policies, security guidelines, and governance standards.

• Monitor and support the consistency and integrity of data throughout the API lifecycle.

• Contribute to observability initiatives, including distributed tracing and operational monitoring of integration environments.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with API Gateway platforms and API management best practices, particularly CA API Gateway/Layer7 and Apigee X.

• Practical knowledge of cloud environments, preferably with a focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Experience with observability practices and distributed tracing in integration or distributed-system environments.

• Strong understanding of API architecture, integration patterns, and enterprise technology environments.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with peer teams and technical stakeholders.

• Ability to work with autonomy, investigate technical challenges, and contribute to architectural and operational decisions.

• Familiarity with REST and SOAP protocols, API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI, and modern API lifecycle practices is highly valuable.

• Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth and OpenID Connect is desirable.

• Experience with API automation and scripting using Python, Node.js, PHP, Java, or other programming languages is a plus.

• Exposure to Drupal-based API portals and cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS is considered an advantage.
