About this Role.

Sharp Medical Group is seeking a highly organized, customer-focused Virtual Medical Receptionist / Medical Administrative Assistant to join our growing healthcare team.

As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play a critical role in delivering an exceptional patient experience while supporting a busy, multi-provider medical practice. This position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can confidently manage a high-volume multi-line phone system, and communicates professionally in both English and Spanish.

Experience with AccidentMate / OrganizedMED is a plus but not required.

Requirements

What You'll Do

Phone & Patient Support

  • Answer and manage a high-volume multi-line VOIP phone system.

  • Professionally greet patients and callers.

  • Route calls accurately to the appropriate department.

  • Take detailed messages and ensure timely delivery.

  • Handle patient inquiries with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency.

  • Maintain excellent customer service during every interaction.

Appointment Management

  • Confirm upcoming patient appointments.

  • Process cancellations and rescheduling requests.

  • Update provider schedules within the EMR.

  • Ensure patients receive appointment reminders and instructions.

Administrative Support

  • Maintain accurate patient records within the EMR.

  • Document patient communications.

  • Support daily administrative workflows.

  • Assist providers and office staff with general administrative tasks.

Patient Communication

  • Communicate fluently in both English and Spanish.

  • Answer general patient questions and direct inquiries appropriately.

  • Deliver a professional, courteous, and compassionate patient experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a:

  • Medical Receptionist

  • Medical Administrative Assistant

  • Front Desk Coordinator

  • Medical Scheduler

  • Bilingual English & Spanish (Required)

  • Experience working with a multi-line phone system.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Professional phone etiquette.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using AccidentMate or OrganizedMED.

  • Experience supporting a multi-provider or enterprise medical practice.

  • Medical scheduling and appointment confirmation experience.

  • Patient intake and registration.

  • Insurance verification experience.

  • Experience working in high-volume healthcare call environments.

  • Clear, professional, and patient phone presence.

Benefits

Please note that this is a full-time contractor position (40 hours per week) with a negotiable pay rate depending on skillset and experience. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM US Time Zone.
