(JOB ID: SEFEBF2026)

Role

Our client is a character driven entertainment company in the comic and anime universe, with decades of storytelling across publishing, film, games, and digital media.

They are looking for a Software Engineer to design and build the operator interface for a cutting edge, real time aerospace software platform based in the U.S.

In this role, you will own the frontend experience end to end, from interface and interaction design through production implementation. You'll build highly responsive, information dense interfaces that display live operational data, maps, telemetry, and control systems, enabling operators to quickly understand complex situations and make critical decisions in real time.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop responsive, data-rich frontend interfaces for a real-time aerospace platform • Build intuitive dashboards that display live assets, telemetry, maps, and control panels without sacrificing performance or usability • Render and continuously update maps with large numbers of moving objects in real time • Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs and live data feeds using WebSockets • Create synthetic datasets and interactive demos when live backend data is unavailable • Optimize frontend performance to ensure smooth rendering under heavy workloads • Collaborate closely with backend engineers and product teams to deliver production-ready features

Requirements:

• Strong frontend engineering experience using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript • Professional experience with a modern frontend framework such as React, Vue, or Svelte • Experience building real-time, data-intensive applications that remain performant under heavy load • Experience designing and developing information dense professional software interfaces • Comfortable integrating with REST APIs and live data streams via WebSockets • Strong portfolio showcasing interactive, production-ready applications (not just design mockups) • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)

Highly Preferred:

• Experience with mapping or geospatial technologies such as MapLibre, Mapbox, Cesium, deck.gl, or WebGL • Experience building software for aerospace, defense, simulation, GIS, aviation, or gaming industries • Experience creating product demos, screen recordings, or presentation ready interface walkthroughs • Background designing operator dashboards, command and control systems, or other mission critical software • Previous experience as a Frontend Engineer, UX Engineer, Design Engineer, or Software Engineer with strong UI/UX expertise • Previous experience developing real-time mapping systems, aerospace or defense software, simulation platforms, gaming interfaces, or air traffic-style visualization tools

Location Remote

Availability Part-Time (20 hours per week) Must be available during U.S. Pacific Time business hours

*While this role is structured to begin at 20 hours per week, there is flexibility to offer an immediate or expedited full-time position to a candidate who demonstrates high-level creative and technical expertise
