Software Engineer, Credit Cycle

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer, Credit Cycle based in Brazil.

This role focuses on building secure, reliable, and scalable systems that manage credit card statements, invoice data, charges, statuses, and cycle events. You will develop and maintain software across backend, frontend, and data layers within a distributed, cloud-native environment. The position combines hands-on engineering with API integrations, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and production support. You will contribute to systems operating at high volume while optimizing performance, cost efficiency, reliability, and maintainability. Strong attention to secure development, data quality, and regulatory requirements is essential. You will also collaborate on feature planning, architectural decisions, and continuous improvements to the end-customer experience.

Accountabilities:

• Write, modify, review, and maintain high-quality, testable, efficient code across frontend, backend, and data layers.
• Integrate systems using APIs, messaging queues, relational databases, and non-relational data stores.
• Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, performance, and end-to-end tests.
• Maintain CI pipelines that automatically execute tests and quality checks following code changes.
• Debug complex issues and perform root cause analysis using appropriate engineering and AI-assisted tools.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and enforce engineering quality standards through reviews and static analysis.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deploy applications across environments using containerization and orchestration technologies.
• Monitor production applications using observability tools, investigate incidents, analyze logs, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Optimize applications for performance, cost efficiency, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Apply secure coding practices, including appropriate secrets management, input validation, authentication, and authorization.
• Support API documentation, technical diagrams, developer experience initiatives, and external API publishing.
• Contribute to feature planning and impact analysis while evaluating architectural options for scalable microservices.
• Maintain technical documentation and support compliance with applicable regulatory and audit requirements.
• Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree, or at least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • 3+ years of professional experience with Java and/or Golang, with strong proficiency in Java and the ability to adapt to other programming languages.
  • Experience working in the financial services or payments industry.
  • Advanced Git skills, including the ability to resolve team-level version control issues.
  • Strong experience conducting code reviews with a focus on quality across technical domains.
  • Solid knowledge of automated testing, including unit, integration, performance, and end-to-end testing.
  • Experience with Swagger, API documentation, and technical flow diagrams.
  • Experience with Terraform and CI/CD technologies such as Argo, Jenkins, Codefresh, or comparable tools.
  • Strong understanding of relational database design, non-relational data strategies, and effective data modeling.
  • Proficiency with AWS and experience applying cloud technologies to achieve performance, scalability, and reliability objectives.
  • Experience designing scalable microservices and evaluating architectural alternatives.
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve distributed systems issues.
  • Understanding of observability practices, including monitoring, tracing, and alerting, is preferred.
  • Experience working with critical or high-availability systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on reliability and technical quality.
  • English proficiency at B1 level or above for professional communication and technical collaboration.
  • Must be based in Brazil.
