Senior Software Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer based in Brazil.

This is a senior full-stack engineering role focused on building products that help local businesses turn customer conversations into measurable business outcomes.
You'll own features end-to-end, from early product discovery and design through implementation, deployment, and ongoing improvement.
The role combines backend engineering, database design, frontend development, architecture, and product thinking.
You'll work closely with Product and Design while helping maintain reliable systems that serve thousands of businesses.
A strong emphasis is placed on practical execution, ownership, experimentation, and shipping meaningful solutions rather than following rigid processes.
You'll also contribute to engineering quality by reviewing code, sharing knowledge, and helping teammates develop their skills.

Accountabilities

• Own product features end-to-end, from initial design discussions and problem definition through development, deployment, and production iteration.

• Design and implement scalable full-stack solutions across backend services, databases, APIs, and frontend experiences.

• Contribute to architectural decisions and help evolve systems that support a growing customer base.

• Work closely with Product and Design to translate customer and business needs into practical technical solutions.

• Develop reliable, maintainable production software while balancing delivery speed, product quality, and long-term technical health.

• Work across backend logic, relational databases, search capabilities, and frontend user experiences as required by the product.

• Contribute to distributed systems and scalable architectures, including queues, event-driven workflows, and horizontal scaling where appropriate.

• Use AI-powered development tools as part of the everyday engineering workflow to improve productivity and accelerate delivery.

• Review code, share technical knowledge, and help raise engineering standards across the team.

• Participate in troubleshooting and improving the reliability and performance of production systems.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience building and shipping production software, with substantial full-stack experience.

• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of problems from definition through delivery rather than focusing solely on assigned implementation tasks.

• Strong full-stack engineering skills, with the ability to work deeply across backend logic, database architecture, and frontend development.

• Solid understanding of relational databases and search fundamentals.

• Hands-on, regular experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or comparable solutions to meaningfully accelerate development.

• Experience working in a fast-paced startup or SaaS environment is highly valued.

• Familiarity with distributed systems concepts such as queues, event-driven architecture, and horizontal scaling is a plus.

• Exposure to Elixir/Phoenix, React, and PostgreSQL is advantageous, along with the ability and willingness to learn new technologies quickly.

• Strong product mindset and practical approach to engineering, with a focus on delivering useful, reliable outcomes.

• Good communication and collaboration skills, with a genuine interest in mentoring and helping teammates grow.

• Comfortable working autonomously in a remote environment while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

• Experience contributing to AI-driven tooling, services, or agents in production would be valuable.
