π Project Overview You will join a high-impact engineering initiative focused on building a Cloud Economics Platform that enables advanced financial visibility and optimization across large-scale cloud environments.
The platform acts as the central intelligence layer for cloud cost management, combining infrastructure telemetry with financial data to generate actionable insights. This role contributes directly to enabling engineering, product, and finance teams to make informed decisions around cloud spend, unit economics, and long-term cost optimization strategies.
The environment is cloud-native and data-intensive, requiring strong expertise in distributed data processing, orchestration, and financial modeling within modern cloud ecosystems.
π Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines focused on cloud cost attribution and financial transparency
Develop data models that integrate infrastructure telemetry with cost datasets to support performance-aware financial analysis
Build automation frameworks that identify optimization opportunities, including Reserved Instances and Savings Plans strategies
Enable data-driven decision-making by delivering high-quality datasets to Product, Engineering, and Finance stakeholders
Own schema design and evolution for a Cloud Economics data warehouse, ensuring scalability and data integrity
Perform end-to-end data validation and auditing to guarantee accuracy of financial reporting at an executive level
π‘ Must-Have Skills
Strong experience in Data Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or FinOps with a focus on cloud cost optimization
Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and Scala
Expertise with orchestration tools such as dbt, Airflow, or Dagster
Deep hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS (Glue, Aurora, Athena), GCP, and Snowflake
Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and working with CI/CD pipelines
Solid experience building and consuming REST APIs for data ingestion
Proven experience with Datadog for infrastructure and cost monitoring
Experience working in Agile teams and remote environments
Fluent English for daily communication

Experience with discount modeling strategies such as Reserved Instances and Savings Plan
Background in building advanced analytics dashboards for predictive cloud cost optimization
Experience querying and optimizing large-scale data warehouses
Exposure to financial modeling concepts related to unit economics in cloud environments
FinOps Practitioner or FinOps Engineer certification
π Time Zone & Collaboration The role requires collaboration with teams aligned to the Central Time (CT) zone. Candidates should be available to overlap several hours with US-based teams.
