Remote Fund Operations Manager for Financial Services Company

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Remote Fund Operations Manager for Financial Services Company based in Mexico.

As a Fund Operations Manager, you will take ownership of critical fund operations workflows within a growing, technology-driven investment environment. Your primary focus will be monthly NAV production, fund accounting, and reconciliation, while also supporting management company financials and investor operations. You will play an important role in bringing key operational processes in-house and strengthening them as the fund portfolio expands. Working closely with the Head of Operations, you will progressively assume end-to-end ownership of core workflows with increasing independence. The role combines detailed financial operations with direct interaction with investors and cross-functional projects. This is a fully remote opportunity for an experienced fund operations professional who is comfortable working US Eastern business hours and thrives in a lean, high-accountability environment.

Accountabilities

• Produce accurate monthly Net Asset Value calculations for multiple custom investment funds.
• Reconcile fund positions, cash balances, transactions, and other relevant records, identifying and resolving discrepancies before monthly close.
• Maintain accurate fund books, records, accounting files, and systems of record.
• Redesign and improve NAV production workflows as the number and complexity of funds increases.
• Take ownership of NAV and reconciliation processes currently managed by an outsourced provider and transition these activities in-house.
• Support complete month-end close cycles and progressively assume independent responsibility for assigned fund operations workflows.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable for the management company.
• Perform bookkeeping and internal financial reporting for management company activities.
• Accurately record internal expenses and revenue in a timely manner.
• Process investor subscriptions, redemptions, and onboarding documentation.
• Respond independently to Limited Partner inquiries by email and participate in investor calls when required.
• Prepare investor reporting and fulfill investor documentation requests accurately and efficiently.
• Support the operational setup and launch of new custom funds.
• Identify inefficiencies in existing processes and implement improvements as fund complexity and volume increase.
• Learn, maintain, and effectively use proprietary internal applications for managing and storing fund data.
• Support cross-functional operational initiatives and ad hoc projects as the organization scales.
• Maintain strong attention to detail and operational controls across all fund, management company, and investor workflows.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in fund operations, back-office operations, or a related function within an asset management firm, hedge fund, SEC-registered investment advisor, or fund administrator.
• Demonstrated hands-on ownership of monthly NAV production for at least one fund, including position, cash, and transaction reconciliation.
• Strong fund accounting experience covering fund books and records, investor statements, and independent month-end close activities.
• Working knowledge of the asset management trade lifecycle and settlement processes, including identifying, investigating, and resolving breaks.
• Practical experience with management company financials, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, and internal reporting, separate from fund-level accounting.
• Experience supporting investor operations, including subscription and redemption processing, investor onboarding, or responding directly to Limited Partner inquiries.
• C1 or higher English proficiency under the CEFR, with the ability to communicate professionally in investor-facing written correspondence and occasional calls.
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to independently investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and drive issues through to resolution.
• Highly organized and comfortable managing recurring deadlines associated with month-end close and investor operations.
• Ability to work effectively in a lean, distributed team with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and confidence interacting with investors and senior stakeholders.
• Experience working with fund administration or accounting platforms such as Juniper Square, Allvue, Carta, SS&C, Advent Geneva, or similar systems is a plus.
• Experience within an asset manager with fewer than 50 employees or direct ownership of a fund vertical within a larger organization is advantageous.
• Exposure to multi-manager hedge fund platforms, custom funds, or managed accounts is preferred.
• Experience supporting fund formations or new fund launches is a plus.
• Previous experience working US Eastern business hours from Latin America is advantageous.
