The Network Sales Engineer supports the sales team by owning the technical pre-sales process. This role bridges Sales, Project Coordination, and Engineering by translating client requirements into the appropriate network solution.
You'll become an expert in Vivant's standardized network packages, determine the right solution for each prospect, coordinate technical cost analysis, recommend the best ISP options, and prepare proposals for the sales team.
Initially, you'll join client meetings to answer technical questions. As Account Executives become more comfortable handling technical discussions, your involvement shifts toward behind-the-scenes solution design and proposal preparation.
This position is ideal for someone who understands networking fundamentals, enjoys structured and repeatable processes, and wants to build a long-term career in technical sales.
Participate in discovery calls alongside the sales representative.
Understand the client's business, technical requirements, pain points, number of locations, and project goals.
Document all technical and business requirements accurately.
Match client requirements with Vivant's standard network packages.
Determine the appropriate:
Firewall
Switches
Wireless Access Points (WAPs)
Network sizing
Hardware quantities
Recommend solutions based on facility size, user count, and device requirements.
Submit project requirements to Project Coordinators.
Coordinate completion of cost analysis.
Review completed analyses for accuracy and completeness.
Evaluate available Internet Service Provider (ISP) options.
Recommend the best-fit ISP based on:
Client requirements
Budget
Availability
Reliability
Prepare two to three solution options using Vivant's standard packages.
Ensure proposals are accurate, organized, and client-ready.
Collaborate with the sales representative before presentation.
Attend proposal review meetings with prospects.
Answer technical questions regarding:
Firewalls
Switches
VLANs
IP addressing
Wi-Fi design
WAP placement and sizing
Network topology
Support the sales representative throughout the sales cycle until the deal is signed.
Requirements
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including:
Firewalls
Network switches
VLANs
Wireless networking
WAP placement and sizing
IP addressing
Basic network design
Prior sales experience with the ability to move opportunities through the sales process.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
