Challenge
We are seeking a Mid-Level HRIS Lead with strong Workday expertise to join our LATAM team. This role is based in Latin America but is primarily dedicated to supporting our US-based customer. The successful candidate will own the configuration, administration, optimization, and ongoing support of the Workday HCM platform for the US customer, ensuring seamless HR technology operations that drive efficiency, data integrity, US compliance, and strategic HR initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead configuration, maintenance, and enhancement of Workday modules (Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Talent Management, Recruiting) tailored to the US customer’s needs.
Develop and manage custom reports, dashboards, and analytics using Workday Advanced Reporting and Prism Analytics.
Design and maintain integrations, EIBs, calculated fields, business processes, and security configurations aligned with US requirements.
Partner closely with the US customer’s HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, implement solutions, and continuously optimize HR processes.
Ensure data accuracy, security, and full compliance with US federal/state labor laws, data privacy regulations (e.g., CCPA, HIPAA where applicable), as well as any overlapping LATAM requirements.
Lead or support HRIS projects for the US customer, including system enhancements, new module rollouts, testing, user acceptance, and change management.
Provide advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and end-user training to the US customer’s HR teams and employees.
Monitor system performance, participate in Workday releases/upgrades, and proactively recommend improvements.
Mentor junior HRIS analysts and contribute to knowledge sharing within the regional and global team.
Maintain strong time-zone alignment with US business hours (e.g., EST/CST overlap) to ensure responsive support.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
4–7 years of progressive HRIS experience, with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on Workday configuration, administration, and support and demonstrable experience with Workday Adaptive Planning (configuration, data integration, budgeting/forecasting models, and reporting).
Workday certification (HCM Core, Reporting, or relevant modules) is highly preferred; candidates with deep practical experience in both platforms will also be strongly considered.
Proven expertise in Workday business process configuration, reporting, integrations, calculated fields, and security.
Proven expertise in Workday business process configuration, integrations (HCM Adaptive), calculated fields, security, and Adaptive Planning model building/maintenance.
Fluency in English is required (excellent written and verbal communication for direct US customer interaction). Spanish is strongly preferred; Portuguese is a plus.
Solid understanding of US HR practices, multi-state payroll, labor legislation, and compliance requirements (in addition to LATAM knowledge).
Strong project management, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote, cross-functional, multi-time-zone environment with regular US business-hour collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience supporting US-based customers or operations from a LATAM nearshore location.
Familiarity with additional HR systems or integration platforms (e.g., API, Studio).
Experience leading small-to-medium HRIS projects or mentoring team members.
Knowledge of agile methodologies or change management frameworks in HR technology implementations.
