The Treatment Specialist / Medical Management professional plays a pivotal role in coordinating and overseeing clients’ medical care within personal injury cases. This position ensures clients receive timely, appropriate, and well-documented medical treatment while serving as a key liaison between healthcare providers and the legal team. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in medical care coordination, medical billing, insurance processes, or personal injury case support. This role directly contributes to case strategy by tracking medical progress, managing documentation, and identifying potential treatment or billing issues. Key Responsibilities • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients’ medical providers, including physicians, therapists, chiropractors, and other healthcare professionals. • Coordinate and monitor clients’ treatment plans to ensure timely, appropriate, and cost-effective care. • Track, document, and maintain accurate records of all medical treatments, appointments, bills, and correspondence. • Review and verify medical records, reports, and billing statements for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. • Communicate regularly with medical providers and internal legal staff regarding treatment updates, authorizations, and billing status. • Identify potential issues or gaps in medical treatment plans and proactively coordinate with attorneys and clients to resolve them. • Submit hospital and medical bills to health insurance providers and follow up to confirm payments and resolutions. • Ensure compliance with all legal, medical, and privacy regulations, including HIPAA requirements. • Support clients by guiding them through the medical care process and addressing treatment-related concerns with professionalism and empathy. • Participate in case strategy discussions by providing medical insights that support case development and resolution. Required Qualifications Must Have: • 1–3 years of experience in medical case management, treatment coordination, personal injury support, or a related field. • Strong understanding of medical terminology, treatment protocols, and medical billing practices. • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously. • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, healthcare providers, and legal staff. • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced, remote work environment. • Proficiency in case management software, medical record systems, and the Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred: • Prior experience working with personal injury law firms, insurance companies, or medical management teams. • Familiarity with insurance billing processes, treatment authorizations, and lien-related documentation.
