About this Role.

  • Job Type: Full-time, long-term contractor
  • Workplace: Remote
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm PST
  • Compensation: $900 - $1,300 USD

Join a California-based workers compensation law firm as their foundational offshore legal assistant. Support daily operations by managing medical records, coordinating with external providers, and handling routine legal correspondence. Work independently while maintaining high reliability standards during US business hours. Serve as the cornerstone hire with potential to guide future team expansion. Key responsibilities include:

  • Requesting and retrieving medical documents and records, including follow-ups with medical offices and providers
  • Utilizing case management software and legal tools to support workers’ compensation matters
  • Maintaining organized and accurate healthcare documentation for legal cases
  • Supporting U.S.-based law firm workflows and adapting to firm-specific processes
  • Ensuring high reliability and attention to detail in all administrative tasks
  • Escalating issues promptly and collaborating with team members to resolve challenges

Requirements

  • Minimum 1–2 years of prior legal assistant experience; workers’ compensation experience strongly preferred ( a must)
  • Hands-on experience with medical records retrieval and documentation tracking workflows.
  • Proficiency with case management software and legal documentation tools.
  • Some college coursework completed or equivalent professional certification in legal or healthcare administration preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to draft professional correspondence.
  • Experience coordinating with medical offices, healthcare providers, and legal documentation systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple case files simultaneously with strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Background in healthcare, medical facilities, or workers’ compensation legal environments preferred.
  • Ability to independently request, track, and follow up on medical and legal documentation.
  • Comfortable supporting a foundational role with potential to assist in training or guiding future team members.
