High End Residential Estimator

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a High End Residential Estimator based in Brazil.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Estimator to support the development of ultra-high-end custom residential projects valued at $10M and above. This role requires extensive construction knowledge, strong technical expertise, and the ability to produce accurate cost estimates for complex building projects. You will oversee detailed material takeoffs, cost modeling, and financial assessments while accounting for challenging construction conditions and remote logistics. Working directly with the business owner, you will help refine estimating methodologies and ensure the accuracy and reliability of project budgets. This fully remote opportunity offers a long-term professional partnership for an independent, detail-oriented expert with substantial hands-on construction experience.

Accountabilities
You will take ownership of construction estimating activities, translating technical project requirements and real-world construction knowledge into detailed, reliable cost projections.

• Develop comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for luxury custom residential construction projects valued at $10M or more.
• Perform detailed material quantity takeoffs, including concrete volumes, lumber and framing requirements, roofing specifications, and other construction materials.
• Calculate and model project costs, taking into account materials, labor, equipment, and specific construction requirements.
• Estimate logistics costs for remote and island-based construction projects, including shipping, fuel, transportation, material sourcing, and delivery schedules.
• Assess site-specific conditions, labor productivity, material availability, and scheduling constraints that may influence project costs.
• Use Microsoft Excel as the primary tool for estimating, cost calculations, and financial modeling.
• Work directly with the owner to understand, refine, and implement established estimating methodologies and project standards.
• Independently review estimates, identify potential cost risks, and ensure all calculations and project requirements are accurate and complete.
• Apply practical construction knowledge to evaluate technical challenges and anticipate potential cost overruns.
• Maintain clear communication with the owner while managing estimating activities independently in a fully remote environment.

Requirements

• The ideal candidate combines extensive construction field experience with strong analytical capabilities, technical expertise, and a practical understanding of complex residential building projects.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in construction estimating, engineering, or hands-on construction roles, with 10--15+ years preferred.
• Technical background in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering, architecture, or extensive field-based construction estimating.
• Proven experience estimating complex, high-value residential or commercial construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction fundamentals, including material quantity takeoffs, concrete calculations, lumber framing, roofing systems, and general building science.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly for complex calculations, cost modeling, and construction estimates.
• Experience with luxury custom homes, specialized construction projects, remote locations, or island developments is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with remote construction logistics, including shipping schedules, international material sourcing, transportation, fuel costs, and labor productivity challenges.
• Experience managing international supply chains or logistics-intensive construction projects is a strong advantage.
• Ability to evaluate how site conditions, transportation limitations, material availability, and labor constraints affect project budgets and timelines.
• Excellent analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to identify potential project and cost risks.
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English, with the ability to communicate directly and effectively with the owner.
• Self-directed, adaptable, and comfortable working independently while aligning with established estimating methodologies.
• Humble, coachable, and receptive to direct guidance and feedback.
• Willingness to develop a long-term professional working relationship and adapt to specific project requirements.
