About this Role.

About Us

HireHawk connects exceptional global talent with career opportunities at ambitious U.S. and Canadian companies. For this role, we are supporting a confidential client that advises founder-led consumer and retail brands from startup through scale and M&A. This is a strong fit for someone who wants sophisticated finance work, direct exposure to senior operators, and the autonomy to make a visible impact across multiple brands.

As Director of Finance, you will serve as the analytical and operational backbone of a senior finance advisory pod supporting multiple CPG, DTC, retail, and consumer brands. You will own financial modeling, forecasting, reporting, KPI infrastructure, and executive-ready analysis so senior finance leaders can focus on strategic planning, capital allocation, and founder advisory. This is a highly visible role where you will work closely with CFO-level leaders, client executives, and cross-functional teams across marketing, supply chain, operations, and leadership. The right person will bring the technical depth of investment banking or advanced FP&A, combined with the judgment and communication skills to guide real business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain dynamic 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year financial models, including three-statement models, scenario analyses, and sensitivity tables

  • Own rolling forecasts, annual budgets, variance analysis, and financial reporting across a portfolio of client engagements

  • Develop KPI dashboards, executive reporting packages, and board-ready materials that turn complex data into clear decisions

  • Lead margin analysis, demand planning, unit economics reviews, and financial analysis tied to pricing, channel mix, inventory, and vendor decisions

  • Partner with senior finance leaders as the primary analytical owner across multiple client relationships

  • Prepare materials for board meetings, investor calls, strategic planning sessions, fundraising processes, and M&A-related work

  • Step into client meetings when needed and communicate confidently with leaders across marketing, supply chain, operations, and executive teams

  • Support capital markets work, including investor decks, lender reporting, data rooms, credit packs, due diligence materials, and runway planning

  • Improve recurring workflows by templatizing reports, documenting SOPs, and strengthening analytical infrastructure across engagements

  • Use Excel, Google Sheets, AI tools, and automation platforms to make reporting and analysis faster, cleaner, and more scalable

Requirements

Must-Have:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or finance advisory

  • Prior experience in a multi-client, portfolio support, consulting, fractional finance, PE operating, or multi-entity environment

  • Advanced financial modeling skills, including multi-year three-statement models, DCF, LBO, scenario analysis, and sensitivity tables

  • Strong understanding of consumer business models, including DTC, retail, omnichannel, wholesale, CPG, or related sectors

  • Working knowledge of accounting principles, including accrual vs. cash accounting, revenue recognition, COGS treatment, and inventory accounting

  • Ability to synthesize complex financial data into clear, executive-ready insights for senior stakeholders

  • Confidence operating independently in client-facing conversations with cross-functional leaders

Nice to Have:

  • Investment banking or private equity background

  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Xero, or BI/reporting tools

  • Experience supporting fundraising, M&A, lender reporting, or investor-facing processes

  • Strong working knowledge of LLMs such as Claude or ChatGPT and automation platforms

  • Exposure to beauty, retail, consumer goods, or founder-led growth companies

Benefits

  • Access to a $200K+ perk marketplace with discounts on 150+ global services.

  • Option to withdraw up to 50% of approved earnings before payday.
