About this Role.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Construction Estimator (Civil/Concrete/Commercial & BIM) based in Brazil.

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to independently manage estimating workflows and prepare accurate, competitive bids for a wide range of commercial and civil construction projects. This role covers concrete work, structural steel buildings, excavation, and ground-up construction, requiring strong technical expertise and advanced quantity takeoff capabilities. You will review construction drawings, assess project requirements, coordinate subcontractor bids, and develop comprehensive cost breakdowns and proposals. Working directly with an experienced construction leader, you will take ownership of the estimating process while maintaining high standards of accuracy and accountability. This fully remote opportunity offers the chance to work with US-based construction projects and potentially expand into project management responsibilities.

Accountabilities
You will manage end-to-end construction estimating activities, ensuring accurate cost assessments, well-prepared bid packages, and effective coordination with subcontractors and project stakeholders.

  • Independently manage commercial construction estimating workflows and perform detailed material and quantity takeoffs.
  • Prepare comprehensive project estimates, cost breakdowns, and customer-facing bid packages.
  • Solicit, review, compare, and coordinate subcontractor bids to ensure competitive and accurate project pricing.
  • Estimate material, labor, equipment, and overall project costs for commercial and civil construction projects.
  • Develop estimates for concrete work, structural steel buildings, ground-up construction, excavation, and other civil construction activities.
  • Review construction drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation to identify requirements and ensure estimate accuracy.
  • Use estimating and construction software, including Bluebeam, Excel, Revit, Primavera P6/Pro, RSMeans, HeavyBid, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
  • Communicate regularly with the owner, subcontractors, and other stakeholders throughout the bidding process.
  • Maintain organized estimating records, bid documentation, cost breakdowns, and project files.
  • Manage multiple estimates and deadlines while ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timely delivery.
  • Identify potential project risks, pricing discrepancies, and cost-related challenges during the estimating process.
  • Potentially support additional project management activities, including coordination, scheduling, and project tracking.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have substantial commercial or civil construction estimating experience, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to independently manage complex estimating assignments with minimal supervision.
  • 10+ years of commercial or civil construction estimating experience preferred, although strong mid-level candidates with relevant experience may be considered.
  • Extensive experience with quantity takeoffs, cost estimation, subcontractor bidding, and commercial bid preparation.
  • Background in commercial construction, civil engineering, concrete work, structural steel buildings, excavation, or ground-up construction.
  • Degree or educational background in engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in construction estimating and technical software, particularly Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with additional platforms such as HeavyBid, RSMeans, Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Primavera P6/Pro is an advantage.
  • Experience working with US-based construction companies, projects, and industry standards.
  • Proven ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong understanding of subcontractor coordination, bid solicitation, and construction cost management.
  • Fluent English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities and the confidence to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Strong accountability, ownership, and leadership skills when coordinating with subcontractors and project stakeholders.
  • Full-time availability and exclusive commitment to the position.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday during US Eastern Time business hours.

Benefits

  • Competitive monthly compensation of 2,000--3,000 USD, depending on experience and assessment results.
  • Full-time, fully remote opportunity open to candidates based in Latin America.
  • Dedicated full-time engagement with an exclusive assignment.
  • Direct collaboration with an experienced construction professional with over 35 years of industry expertise.
  • Opportunity to receive professional guidance and mentorship while taking ownership of estimating responsibilities.
  • Exposure to diverse commercial and civil construction projects in the US market.
  • Potential to expand responsibilities into project management, construction coordination, and scheduling.
  • Opportunity to strengthen technical expertise and develop long-term professional experience in commercial construction.
