About this Role.

We are seeking a patient-focused Bilingual Patient Coordinator to join our client's ophthalmology practice. This role is responsible for delivering a welcoming front desk experience, conducting thorough patient intake in both English and Spanish, and supporting clinical and administrative workflows. The ideal candidate is organized, communicative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and manage front desk check-in in a professional, welcoming manner

  • Conduct bilingual (English/Spanish) patient intake and ensure all forms and records are complete and accurate

  • Collect, verify, and update insurance information; perform basic eligibility checks

  • Assist patients with understanding co-pays, coverage basics, and required documentation

  • Coordinate with billing and administrative teams to resolve insurance or information issues

  • Prepare patients for ophthalmology visits by gathering symptoms, vision concerns, and medical eye history

  • Communicate patient information and concerns clearly to clinical staff and providers

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical front desk, patient intake, or similar role is required in ophthalmology is a MUST. Candidates without this experience will not be considered

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Familiarity with insurance verification and eligibility processes

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment

Please note that this is a full-time contractor position (40 hours per week) with a pay rate of 7 – 8 per hour depending on skillset and experience. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 6 PM PST.
