Our client is a growing U.S.-based healthcare practice seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Medical Receptionist ( Insurance Verification & Front Desk Virtual Assistant)
In this role, you will be the backbone of our front-desk operations. Your primary focus will be navigating the complexities of the U.S. health insurance system—independently verifying benefits, interpreting coverage, checking authorizations, and clearly explaining financial responsibilities to patients. If you are a proactive communicator who thrives in a fast-paced clinical support role, we want to hear from you!
Verify Eligibility: Check and confirm patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to scheduled appointments.
Explain Coverage: Clearly break down complex insurance terms (deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket maximums) for patients.
Prior Authorizations: Review, submit, and confirm authorization requirements to prevent claim denials.
Specialty Claims: Process and manage specialized cases, including Medicare, Workers' Compensation, and No-Fault Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) claims.
Patient Scheduling: Efficiently manage the clinic calendar, scheduling new and returning patient appointments.
EHR Management: Input, update, and maintain highly accurate patient records and insurance documentation within our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with our clinical team to ensure seamless patient onboarding and accurate billing coordination.
U.S. Healthcare Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience working directly with a U.S. doctor’s office, physical therapy clinic, or chiropractic facility.
Insurance Expertise: Deep, working knowledge of U.S. medical insurance terminology, including deductibles, copays, coinsurance, out-of-pocket limits, and prior authorization workflows.
Specialty Case Knowledge: Direct experience handling Medicare, Workers' Compensation, and No-Fault/MVA cases.
EHR Familiarity: Experience working with EHR/EMR platforms. **Experience with *Comprise Health
is highly preferred**, but a strong willingness and ability to learn the system quickly is required.
Communication Skills: Exceptional English communication skills (both written and verbal) with a warm, professional, and empathetic tone when speaking to patients.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous accuracy in data entry and patient record-keeping to minimize billing and scheduling errors.
Reliable Internet: High-speed, stable internet connection (with a backup power/internet solution preferred).
Workspace: A quiet, dedicated home office space free from background noise.
Equipment: A modern, reliable computer/laptop and a high-quality USB headset with noise-canceling capabilities.
Consistent, stable full-time hours.
A supportive, collaborative team environment.
