Automation Tester with IRS MBI clearance

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Automation Tester with IRS MBI clearance based in Brazil.

As an Automation Tester, you will help ensure the quality, reliability, and security of software supporting an IRS code modernization initiative.
You will translate project requirements into detailed test plans, test cases, and automated testing workflows.
The role combines manual and automated testing, defect management, regression testing, and acceptance testing across the software lifecycle.
You will work closely with developers and other stakeholders to identify issues, validate fixes, and maintain high quality standards.
Your work will also support backend validation involving APIs and databases while contributing to CI/CD processes.
Beyond executing tests, you will help improve testing practices and increase efficiency through automation and process enhancements.

Accountabilities:

• Analyze project requirements and translate them into clear test plans, test cases, and testing strategies.
• Set up and maintain test environments and execute both manual and automated tests.
• Write, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using frameworks and tools such as Selenium or Cypress.
• Identify, document, and track defects while collaborating with development teams through resolution.
• Perform regression testing and acceptance testing to verify that software changes meet functional and quality requirements.
• Support backend testing involving APIs and databases, including SQL-based validation where applicable.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle and integrate testing activities into CI/CD processes.
• Review test results and provide clear feedback on software quality, defects, and potential risks.
• Help identify opportunities to improve testing processes, automation coverage, efficiency, and overall software quality.
• Contribute to non-functional testing activities, including accessibility, performance, and security testing when required.
• Collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout testing and delivery activities.
• Requirements:
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in software testing or quality assurance.
  • Active IRS MBI clearance is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred; additional relevant experience may be required in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated experience writing and executing software test scripts.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium or Cypress.
  • Familiarity with manual testing, regression testing, acceptance testing, and automated testing methodologies.
  • Experience with backend testing, APIs, and databases; SQL knowledge is a plus.
  • Understanding of CI/CD practices and the broader software development lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Good time management, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with accessibility, performance, or security testing is a plus.
  • Benefits:
    • Annual salary of 100,000--130,000.
