Accountabilities:The role is responsible for designing, maintaining, and improving data solutions while ensuring reliability, scalability, and alignment with business needs. The professional will work across data engineering activities, automation, and platform improvements, collaborating with multiple stakeholders to deliver efficient data-driven outcomes.

• Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data efficiently across analytical environments.

• Work with data warehouse, data mart, and other analytical data structures to ensure data availability and quality.

• Use Python for development, automation, and data processing activities.

• Support the implementation and maintenance of containerized environments using technologies such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.

• Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to analyze requirements and solve complex data-related challenges.

• Apply best practices for version control, code management, and collaboration using Git and GitLab.

• Contribute to improvements involving data pipelines, automation workflows, and modern data engineering practices.

• Support the adoption of advanced data tools and frameworks to improve performance and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have strong foundations in data engineering, programming, and analytical problem-solving, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams and translate technical concepts into practical solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or a postgraduate qualification in an IT-related area.

• Experience with ETL concepts and data processing workflows.

• Familiarity with analytical data structures such as data warehouses and data marts.

• Knowledge of Python for software development, automation, and data processing.

• Basic knowledge of container technologies and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.

• Basic experience with Git and GitLab workflows.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams.

• Advanced knowledge of Python data libraries such as Pandas, PyArrow, PySpark, Polars, DuckDB, SQLAlchemy, or similar tools is a plus.

• Experience with Apache data ecosystem technologies such as Airflow, Spark, Flink, Kafka, Parquet, or Iceberg is desirable.

• Basic knowledge of Linux, Jenkins, Tekton, GitOps practices, and deployment tools such as ArgoCD is an advantage.
